Along with Morris Bennett and Anne Roland, I will be participating in a Pop Up Gallery in Pittsfield this December. The opening will coincide with the First Fridays Artswalk on December 2nd from 5-8PM. I will be showing my energetic silver pen drawings and colorful pastels. I also have some older work in this show including remnants of The Journey series and a set of prints I had made for those works. The holiday season has also filled me with generosity and so everything in this show is on sale!
I am so excited to be participating in a Pop Up Gallery this December! I've always felt that December is a great time to have artwork out their. The feeling of "magic" in the air is almost overwhelming. Since there are a few empty store fronts in Pittsfield, a group of artists and organizers have decided to put together three galleries in these storefronts to show the positive impact the arts can have on the community. Now the holiday season is also a notable time for selling art, so there may be other motivations, but we really are all proud to help brighten up Pittsfield for this holiday season. And if you want to get something special for someone, or yourself, then we can all have a great December!
As part of the Pop Up Gallery, I will be giving some painting demonstrations. I will be giving 6 demonstrations starting on Saturday, 12/3 from 4-6PM, and continuing every Friday and Saturday until the end of the Pop Up on 12/23. In each demonstration I will be painting a single layer of my oil paintings as I answer questions about the process. Unique to this series, you will have the chance to see multiple steps in the evolution of the work as each day will be a new layer of the painting. So if you are interested in how each layer progresses the painting, you will certainly want to come to a few of these demos and see it for yourself.
