I am participating in a group show at the Kimball Farms Connector Gallery starting March 24th and open through May 12th with opening reception Sunday, May 24th from 3-5pm. The show, titled Illusions & Reality - the Real, Surreal and Unreal, features four great Berkshire artists: Morris Bennett, Mario Caluori, Julio Granda, and little ole me. The space is expansive, so don’t expect just a couple works from us, each artist has a vast wall to showcase their work. Be sure to come to the opening reception where refreshments will be served and guests will enjoy piano music by Karen Tchougourian. The artists will donate 10% of profits from sales to HospiceCare in The Berkshires.
Sean McCusker’s paintings seek to depict emotion as a solid object, using layers to create compositions of shadow suspended in light. Julia Granda holds a MFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts; his works are in libraries, museums and private collections throughout the United States. Mario Caluori retired from teaching English at Berkshire Community College in 2001; his works are both figurative and abstract. Morris Bennett has spent time in Italy but has taught in Pittsfield high schools; his work ranges from landscapes to abstracts.
